Putrajaya Flower & Garden Festival 2011

We managed to go to Floria in Putrajaya on Saturday, 9th July. Since hubby was stuck in jammed due to the roadblock and dear son fell asleep for his afternoon nap, we only managed to go there around 8pm.

I didn’t get to snap any picture of the outdoor garden since it was dark. But we managed to see some fireworks as the minister launched the event. All the pictures above were taken in the indoor exhibition hall or what they call it Floral Pavillion.

For those wishing to buy plants, do check out the Garden Bazaar. I managed to get a pot of pokok kesum and pokok kari to replace the dead one..huhu!

I hope I could make it again this weekend during daytime to take pictures at the Showcase Gardens and Flower Galore.

For those interested, here are the details of Floria 2011.

Venue: Waterfront, Precinct 2, Putrajaya

T-Rex In Pusat Sains Negara

As promised, the video I took of the moving T-Rex. As I was about to wrap up the video, a bunch of Tadika kids came along as you can hear the chattering children voices and even the conversation of the Kelantanese ladies..hehe!

For those who could not make it to the Dinos Alive exhibition before it ends this 12 June 2011, I hope this video will give you some rough idea on what and how the T-Rex looks like, and why most kids cry the moment they see the dinosaurs..haha!

Putrajaya Hot Air Balloon Fiesta 2011

For those looking for activity to do with your kids during school holiday, come to Putrajaya to see the hot air balloons. I read that the event will be held from 17th march till 20th March from 7am to 9pm, Monumen Alaf Baru, Precint 2.

I think it’s the usual spot where they do Floria every year. My first thought when I read about this year’s hot air balloon fiesta is to go on the RM10 5-minute ride. But after reading other blogs, apparently you have to queue as early as 5am to go on the first ride at 7am. Well, too bad, I’m not going to do that.

Maybe I should go on the helicopter ride. The official site MyBalloonFiesta says the ticket is RM130 per person..hehe! Since I will be around Putrajaya on the 19th, I hope I will get the chance to snap some pictures of the hot air balloon, if it’s not raining, that is..heh!

Hari Kraf Kebangsaan 2011

For those are are not aware, there is Hari Kraf Kebangsaan 2011 going on at Kompleks Kraf, Jalan Conlay till 7 Mac 2011.

Please click on the above image to view larger version.

Actually I was supposed to go to the place in search of new tudung saji today but the plan was scrapped because I heard that Hindraf will be having demostration nearby KLCC..sigh! I hope we could still make it next weekend before the exhibition ends on 7th March.

I think last year was the only year that I didn’t go to Hari Kraf Kebangsaan. It’s a great place to see many local crafters come and sell their work of art to public. Will write more about this year Hari Kraf Kebangsaan once I am able to make it :)

Year of Rabbit 2011

It’s the celebration time for Lunar Year! Happy Chinese New Year to those celebrating.

Here is something fun to share, the general prediction of this 2011 year of rabbit:

Taken from chiff.com.

The year of the Rabbit is traditionally associated with home and family, artistic pursuits, diplomacy, and keeping the peace. Therefore, 2011 is very likely to be a relatively calmer one than 2010 both on the world scene, as well as on a personal level.

Conversely, nations will also become more insular and increasingly lock down their borders to protect against the “other”. However, 2011 will also see new art movements projecting a distinct national identity taking the world by storm. Shrewd and creative new business partnerships will also form to the benefit of all.

Rabbits who thrive on delicate business dealings are best suited to navigating the year ahead. Those compatible with the Rabbit — the Sheep, Dog and Pig in particular — will also find 2011′s circumstances inspiring them to greater personal happiness and professional success.

Others will suffer, by degree, depending on how flexible they are to the world mood. Those who have cultivated careful negotiation skills (or, perhaps more importantly, can sniff-out and swiftly dodge dangerous situations!), may attain similar good luck enjoyed by rabbits and those compatible with them in 2011.
