Bilik Pengantin - The Bridal Room

I’ve been trying to upload these 2 pictures of the bilik pengantin but up till this moment when I am typing this entry, I only managed to upload only one picture..damn the Maxis Broadband connection at home..isk! Can’t wait to get Streamyx (hopefully in another 1-2 weeks..huhu!)

Eventhough the wedding theme is red and black, SIL and Niece #1 decided to use the white cadar pengantin that Niece #1 bought for her wedding in 2008. Only the curtain is in black and red design. I think if the whole room is decorated in merah hitam theme, it will be gloomy (ada unsur Gothic or Old Hollywood just like in this wedding blog I found earlier)

(Finally managed to upload the second picture at 2:52 a.m..sigh!)

I found the red and black bed runner which is actually a table runner at the bazaar at The Curve. The black rectangle plate was bought at The Curve as well since they have sale for Christmas. The rose petals we bought in IKEA, together with the 3 red candles. It was not much but overall it complemented the whole theme..(with limited budget what do you expect, kan?)

Not sure whether the pengantin baru did remove the artificial rose petals on their wedding night or not..haha!

The Red Wedding — DONE

Thank God! The wedding went well despite a few glitches here and there..biasa la kan..macam2 orang macam2 la kerenahnya..nevertheless what we planned we carried out smoothly. We left SIL’s house around 7pm because The Son could no longer stay happy..tak dapat la tgk pengantin open their presents..pity him for having to wake up early on that Sunday morning, berpanas, tak selesa and all that during the whole wedding day..but he didn’t even cry, mengamuk or whatnot, Alhamdulillah.

That night both of us pengsan awal..hehe..and today my thighs are so sore with all the heavy lifting, walking up and down the stairs, I even accompanied the bride berarak while holding my son. Tell you what, if you have one clingy son and you really take care of him on your own, definitely tak payah pegi gym to work out..haha!

Well, I will share more pictures of the wedding later. Now, I need to catch up on my sleep while The Son is enjoying his. Happy Tuesday, people!

Should I?

It’s amazing how sometimes our body and mind work..like today when I woke up at 9 a.m (blame the Sukaneka committee..isk!) when I slept last nite at 5 a.m. Niece #2 is getting married tomorrow, so I have been telling our son that he has to practise sleep early and wake up early so that we won’t miss the akad nikah ceremony at 10 am. And I think it’s not his brain that digests the advice, it’s mine..keh keh!

So here I am since 10, can’t fall back to sleep and trying to do something to pass the time..isk! I want to do laundry but Hubby is still asleep (the sound of the washer machine and dryer will wake him up..unless we are using washer and dryer LG yg konon2 very quiet tu..hahaha!)

I feel like spending some creative time in the craft room, preparing stuffs for next weekend class but I feel reluctant knowing that I have to rush to and fro from the craft room back to bedroom (Son seems to have this internal sensor that cries out whenever Mama is not in 10m proximity..aiyak!)

I don’t feel like reading either, because my eyes hurt from the lack of sleep. Maybe I should just go back to sleep..after all it’s still like 2-3 hours before everyone’s wake up time..gonna catch up with some rest before another busy day today..tata! Have a good weekend, everyone!

Future Is…Webucation

I remember almost 2 decades ago (the time when I went to school), parents sent their school going children to well known tuition centre in the hope that their children will score great results in Penilaian Darjah 5 later became UPSR, then SRP later known as PMR and of course the big SPM! Though most children show improvement in their performance in school and the main exam, some simply waste parents’ money by “belajar main-main” and later hang out at shopping mall with friends.

The trend in education is pretty much the same now. Parents still fork out large chunks of money to spend on sending their children to good reputable tuition centres…and the rate per subject in big city like KL is like RM60-80 per month…(imagine if you have 3 children taking big exam in the same year and each need tuition for 3-4 subjects..isk!) Those who want extra attention and privacy (and can afford) even hire private tutors to come and teach their children at home.

But what if you as the parents could be a part of the learning tools, not only financially but physically take part monitoring and gauging how well (or not well) your son/daughter is doing. You don’t have to wait until the trial exam results come out and being asked to come to school to collect report card (and later feel frustrated because your precious child is not performing). You have the option now.

It’s called Webucation - education and knowledge delivered 100% via the Internet. Imagine not having to rush here and there to send off your child from school, to home, to tuition centre, back to home again..or not having to force your child to sleep early on Friday night because he/she has to wake up early on weekend to go to tuition.

And being a non morning person myself, I always hate to wake up and learn during the time of the day when my mind is not at its optimum level to grasp new lessons. I spent 5 years in boarding school and not once I was able to (really!) study during the afternoon prep time (although I obediently attended every compulsory session and slept through the hours in my baju kurung sekolah, with my head dozing off on the meja sekolah) Thankfully there were night prep time and extension hour till 11p.m (for PMR year) and later 12a.m (for SPM year) for me to stay up and study.

My point is everybody has different optimal time to study. With something like online tuition, I can study anytime, anywhere I want as long as there’s Internet connection and a laptop. I wonder how my result would be like if I have that kind of approach 15 years ago…not that I have any regret since I did score 4A’s for my UPSR, 8A’s for my PMR, and 7A’s with single aggregate for my SPM.

But things could be nicer for our future children, right? Or are you still holding on to the old value of educating children with real teachers/tutors and piles of text/reference books and past years exam papers?

P/S: Oh, for those who are interested in this new trend of webucation, feel free to contact me for more info.
