A Homemaker’s Diary

For those who are still not sure what is Big Bad Wolf Book Sale, do check out their official website and facebook. This time they are having the book sale from 26th Nov till 2nd Dec, 10am - 9pm at Amcorp Mall, 3rd floor. I can’t compare how they fare this time with the previous sale they had in Dataran Hamodal, PJ. But for me, we had no problem in finding parking space since we went around 5pm for both 26th and 27th Nov (yes, we celebrated Raya Haji by buying books..haha!)

Check out this book of Love Letters of Great Men. I saw the book in Borders a few months ago, but since it is RM30++, I thought save it for some other time. Then I watched Sex and The City the movie, the book came out again. So when I saw the book at the Big Bad Wolf for RM8, I just grabbed one and put it together with the other piles of books I have in the box..keh keh!

If you noticed the double copy of Life Lessons for Busy Moms, that one is for my friend dwimaya who couldn’t make it to the book sale..heh! The pictures shown here are only books that I bought for myself. Actually we bought more for the son and 3 technical books for Hubby…(who can get technical books which usually priced for RM80-120 each for a mere RM15 anywhere else??..isk!)

I was hoping to buy craft or gardening books on the second visit, but they only have knitting related stuffs and Western garden. So I ended up buying these cooking books which mostly are hard cover or coffee table books (which all these while I can only afford to drool after checking out the normal retail price)

I will try to update about the Children books later. Most of the hard board books we bought for the son are priced at RM5 each, which are usually priced at RM10-RM15 in local bookstore like MPH…what a real bargain, right?

I can’t wait for their next sale next year. Hopefully by that time, our son is bigger and I can concentrate more on finding books I like. Thanks to Hubby for taking turns babysitting the son while I tried to rummage through the books I wanted to buy..heh!

I have so many things to do yet so little free time..and I have lots of many good things to update this blog but I am so worn out today and need to sleep..

Will blog about my “hasil tangkapan” (with the book pictures) at Big Bad Wolf Book Sale and the bottles that I am submitting for the contest tomorrow..have to remind myself not to forget to snap the bottle pictures..

Once I am able to edit those pictures, will let you readers see and read my entries..heh!

Finally the son is asleep at almost 4 am. God!! How I wish I don’t have to sleep so that I can finish the bottle that I am submitting for the craft contest. Actually I am almost done with the one with decoupage. But since I already bought the Pebeo paint set, I might as well try my hand with glass painting as well..though so far I am yet to find a real inspiration to decorate the other bottle.

MIL is in SIL’s place since Saturday. She said she was bored staying with us, me being upstairs with the son most of the time, she has no one to accompany her in the morning and most of the day time. The truth is my son is not really keen on staying downstairs during day time so rather than having to put up with him crying and whining, I will take him into the bedroom cum playroom, which for Grandma means less time with the grandchild. And she was not keen on staying upstairs in the room with us..so she opted to stay in the living hall downstairs watching TV and later complained that she was bored..sigh!

I guess I have done my best to accommodate her stay with us but if she’s not happy here, who can blame her..huhu! SIL will send her back a few days after Raya Haji as she is also not very happy having her mom at her place. I was telling Hubby that MIL is like Dementor in Harry Potter, who seeps everyone’s happy feeling around her. Not sure whether it’s the outcome of nature or nurture that makes her the person she is. I for once pray that when I am that old, I won’t be such a killjoy to my future anak cucu and menantu..isk!

Emm..coming back to the crafty matter..I hope I can proceed with the design transfer tomorrow. I think I will outline the design free hand rather than have to use tracing paper and all. Oh, I found China marker at Art Friend, The Gardens but it’s just tedious to do double job of tracing front and back and later couldn’t see the image accurately on the glass bottle..huhu!

Till later, 2 more days before Hubby’s long weekend..yeay!

We are having such a delicate situation at home, that it makes me stressed and got ulser in my throat..huhu! I feel really tired, feverish and all but it’s actually more to simpan dalam hati, everyday there will be something that annoys me (and annoys Hubby terribly as well)..

I keep on counting the days, and I still have 6 days to endure all these..isk!

Well, on a brighter note, the decoupage napkins for the craft contest have arrived yesterday..and today I managed to paint the first bottle with background color. I have chosen one napkin that can go well with my theme, but I am yet to cut out the motifs and see how they fare on the bottle surface.

I have also sketched the images I want to outline on another bottle for it to be painted using Pebeo. I will have to figure out how to copy the images on the bottle since I don’t have tracing paper and chinagraph pencil. Or else I just have to take the risk and outline it free hand.

That would be another matter to think tomorrow. For now, I need to grab some sleep. Happy Friday, people!

Still on the topic of wedding anniversary..somehow I can’t believe that we have been married for more than half a decade..

Well, for those who wonder, I got the blue box of paints I wrote about earlier last Sunday…Thanks Hubby..muah muah! And I think I have to ask Hubby for more.

There will be The Big Bad Wolf Book Sale from 26Nov till 2Dec at Amcorp Mall, and the books they are selling are like dirt cheap, something like RM8 for the normal retail price of RM30++ for fiction (which means for the price of 1 book I can get 3 books at the sale..huhu!)

The good thing is Hubby will be on leave on the 26th, in conjunction with Raya Haji which falls on Friday (which I will not be cooking anything as agreed with SIL, we will be going to her place in the afternoon to eat her masakan raya..keh keh!)

So in a way the anniversary celebration can start early for me, yeay! (plus MIL will no longer be with us that Thursday as we are sending her off to SIL’s house on Wednesday nite..sigh in relief!)

I can feel that the sun is shining bright upon me..haha!
