Alas Kaki, Levi’s Jeans

OK, before you proceed reading, don’t get the wrong idea that I’m using Levi’s jeans as alas kaki..haha! It’s 2 separate story but I am happy to share both today.

We didn’t really have any specific plan on Friday, but it’s Hubby’s day off since Deepavali falls on Saturday and they have to go to work on Saturday for the monthly release (which might take the whole night till Sunday morning..isk!)

The initial plan was to go grab some lunch outside once the little one wakes up and we get ready. Then I wanted to do half of the groceries shopping for our makan-makan next weekend. It turned out we melencong somewhere else..shhh..and finger cross hopefully it will turn out to be smooth as we pray for.

After that, we went to Sunway Pyramid. I was not planning on buying anything since we have done our magazine, books, toys and baju anak shopping a few weeks ago. Then I saw Living Quarters having sale..aiyakkk..the alas kaki is 70% off..even the RM15.90 per pack IHR tissue has 20% discount (I use those tissue for decoupage class mind you, not lap mulut lepas makan, OK!!)

Apa lagi, we bought 3 alas kaki for less than RM12. They have many more yang cantik with the price range of RM40-50 before discount, but since Hubby has bought a few good alas kaki for Raya, I thought those RM12.90 will do. After we came out from the store, terfikir pulak nak give some alas kaki to SIL..so Hubby bought another 3 alas kaki to give to his sister. Mana nak dapat alas kaki cantik less than RM4 per piece..keh keh!

We walked aimlessly around the mall, went up to buy Takoyaki and while searching for the correct lift to go to the parking, I saw Levi’s store having sale up to 70%..adeihhh..

Tell you, I have not bought any new pants since I was pregnant and gave birth which is like more than a year ago. All these while, I wear the pants that I bought when I was like 6 months pregnant and jeans that Hubby bought for me in the US.

When it comes to clothing, I am one woman with no desire to spend. So rummaging through the pile of jeans with 40% and 50% discount, I got a few pairs with my size. In the end, after all the calculative thinking, Hubby went to the cashier and paid for 2 pairs of Levi’s. Hopefully those jeans could last for at least 5 years..beli buku ratus2 takpe, beli baju rasa membazir gila (unless by dressing up, I could earn more money, tu lain citer la kan..haha!)

So that was the story..I am one happy homemaker today..hehe! Oh, the jeans must be sent to be altered before I can wear them..maklum la orang pendek..haha!

A Facelift?

I am thinking of doing a major facelift to my blog(s) but I am so lazy to tweak here and there..talking about being too long in a comfort zone..heh! Well, it’s about time for me to move the lazy ass and do some money-oriented work here. I am reading and learning about SEO optimized theme and I am wondering whether all my blogs are optimized enough..huhu..perhaps it could help boost my AdSense income monthly if I change the current themes to those that are proven to be search engine optimized.

I really hate digging into all these technical stuffs but I have to. For now what I have done to improve the organic traffic to my blogs is typing in all the important keywords in the All In One SEO Pack, hoping that somehow the post will come out in the front page of the search engine once people search for certain keywords.

It does work for certain blog especially on keywords that are women interest related..hehe..which gives me an extra USD3-4 a month from AdSense. But wouldn’t it be great if I can earn USD30-40 per month, instead..

Let’s see how much improvement the SEO optimized theme could do to my earning. But first I have to ask Hubby to do all the necessary techie tasks..sigh! So much for having a Computer Engineering degree..blerghhh!

Defensive?

“You can trust yourself. Other people’s opinions are driven by their needs and emotions – not by magical insights about your worth.”

I just realized that ever since I become a mom, I tend to be very sensitive and defensive when it comes to people’s remarks about my son. Somehow it feels like a personal attack to me rather than some meaningless comments from people with less empathy and thoughts.

Maybe it’s just me who being very “cepat terasa” these days or maybe it is because I take too much pride of being a SAHM. I feel that people around me are judging and appraising my daily mothering tasks..huhu!

I just feel tired trying to be tactful and being nice to many other stupid mothers who think they know it all just because they have more than one child or years of mothering experience. Setakat bagi bibik jaga or hantar day care tu, tak yah cakap la oiii..

As advised by Hubby, I should choose my enemy better..to friends who feel kecik hati of my honest and bluntly blurted opinion, I am just blowing some steam here..if you know me all these years, you will know that I didn’t mean to hurt you, rather I am the one licking my own wound..huhu!

Listen…

Take a moment to listen today
To what your children are trying to say
Listen today, whatever you do
Or they won’t be there to listen to you.

Listen to their problems, listen to their needs
Praise their smallest triumphs, praise their smallest deeds
Tolerate their chatter, amplify their laughter
Find out whats the matter, find out what they’re after.

Tell them that you love them, every single night
And though you scold them, be sure to hold them
Tell them “everything’s alright
Tomorrow’s looking bright.”

Take a moment to listen today
To what your children are trying to say
Listen today, whatever you do
And they will come back to listen to you.

Open House, Viral Fever..

Both of us have been down with viral fever since the weekend..huhu! Luckily Hubby is still healthy to take care of us in the house. He was on EL on Monday since I was not really strong to take care of our son alone. We went to see the paed, and oh boy, we have never seen so many sick children before in the clinic since the past visits. Must be the flu bug in the country..huhu!

Actually I have not been feeling well since last Wednesday but I thought it’s something that I ate that causing discomfort to my throat. Usually I will go and see the doctor and take medicine before I really fall sick. This time I took things for granted and poor little one has to suffer instead. It’s his first time having flu and viral fever. Blame Mama for that!!

We managed to go to both open house invitations during the weekend. As usual my fever will only happen at night, so after the open house, I went to see the doc on Sunday, took the medicine prescribed and by Monday morning, I realized that our son has been infected as well. Kesian dia…

Being us the keen parents, we tried all the remedy available – air kelapa muda, jelum kepala air daun bunga melur, kool fever, lap badan with wet towel, giving him bath every now and then, endlessly holding him, cuddling and giving hugs, memberi kata-kata semangat and pujukan supaya cepat baik and of course we dilligently counting the hours to feed him the medicine. Alhamdullillah as of the time I am typing this, he’s well again.

After this I will be more careful to monitor my own health and hopefully our son will have a stronger antibody after his first fever experience..heh!
