An Express Update

God!! I wish I have more time in a day (or perhaps I should wish that I have more energy to stay up after the baby sleeps at night..huhu!) I’ve been meaning to update this blog like many, many days ago but still couldn’t find masa terluang to do so..

We went to check the house yesterday, after Hubby went to see the doctor and got MC. SIL and her husband came along as well. I was happy that finally there is some improvement with the defects rectification. Kena gertak dulu baru nak buat kerja. The DB has been installed and even water supply is in. So in a way we are all set to move in anytime. Of course we have to make sure that all the toilets, kepala paip etc have been installed before we can lock the grille and ask the wiring man to do his job. Otherwise hilang pulak segala lampu yang dah di pasang nanti. Though we didn’t buy any designer lamps for lighting but it’s still our hard-earned money, kan!

The Indon contractor we hired to lay the tiles at the washing area did a nice job as well. Cantik pulak tiles yang ku pilih…hehe! Hubby requested him to add additional water pipe at the place we plan to put the washing machine. In years to come, once we have extra budget, we plan to buy a dryer and put there as well.

I can’t tell you how excited I am to finally have a place to call my own. This time whatever we do, we will save and plan carefully so that instead of just buy for the sake of necessities, we will have something that we will truly treasure and cherish for many, many years to come. Otherwise, for the time being, we will make do with whatever items we have like our current sofa buruk, the dining table with existing 3 chairs and the so-called “kitchen cabinet”…heh!

Oh, I need to find a 2-burner gas stove to replace the current ELBA yang nyawa-nyawa ikan. Of course the future plan will be to install hood and hob, but that will come together with the kitchen cabinet for wet and dry kitchen..heh! Anyone with suggestion for the normal RM70 stove, feel free to do so!

Pushing The Limit…

I have very little patience these days…huhu! Especially to stupid and slow people..heh! I don’t know why but they really piss me off..it’s like hello!!! come on..which part of my explanation don’t you understand..huh!

We went light and fans shopping on Saturday. Before that we went to buy tiles for the washing area floor. The sales girl was fast in responding to my request, so I was happy. No waste on my energy and time. We chose the tiles, we paid, took the tiles from the warehouse into the car and off we went to the lighting shop.

Then it started to heat me up. The shop was crowded, other customers were terpekik terlolong, cakap mcm kat pasar borong, it was hot and the guy who attended us was like slow in responding. The last time we bought items there, he forgot to put in the light quantity as 2 sets so we have to go to the shop again and add another one in the new bill. Fortunately we need to add on some more items so it still serves the purpose of going to the shop for the second time. I had some confusion in choosing the fans (3 blades, 4 blades or 5 blades, remote, normal, color silvertone, grey, champagne, white?) and when I finally made my choice, when it was time to write the order bill, he said the chosen fans were out of stock. He was scared to confront me about it so he asked Hubby to tell me…adakah aku nampak sangat pemarah dan menakutkan masa tu? huhu!

It even pissed me off to see other people light hunting senyum2, gelak2 ada siap posing amik gamba dgn lampu dulu while I was rushing to settle the buying process..I guess I am really a type A personality after all. Anyway I do feel sorry for the lighting guy..he tried his best to control the situation, even offered me more free drinks..heh! All these “short fuse” moments really reminds me of the time I was working makan gaji, everyday balik mengamuk, thus the reason Hubby was happy that I finally decided to quit and stay at home..heh!

I’ll try to be more patient in the future, but at least I didn’t (and I pray to God that I will never) lash out my anger to my son.

Another Day…

Time flies..huhu..it’s almost middle of April. I sleep, wake up, tend to the baby, cook, wash, dine, watch TV, get the baby to sleep then I sleep and the routine continues again..

Oh, I found a good read about Fussy Baby here. It is long but has many informative guide. So if you have the time, feel free to read. I especially like this part : 7 THINGS PARENTS SHOULD KNOW ABOUT BABY’S CRIES. Hubby please read no.6.

Contrary to what people said, nurturing your crying child is definitely not a way of spoiling him/her. In fact if your baby is the high-need type, doing so will help him/her thrive even better. (Thriving means not just getting bigger, but growing to one’s potential, physically and emotionally)

So, note to myself, I am doing a right thing here by responding to my son’s cry promptly every time..heh! I for once are against the idea of cry-it-out method. Read the danger of it in here : The Shutdown Syndrome.

Well, that’s it for now. I better hit the pillow before the little one cries again..heh!

The Big 3-0!

Good God! It’s almost a week since my last update..huhu!

Apart from going through the past few days without much achievement (if you don’t consider the tasks of managing the house, clean the dishes, cook dinner, clear up the laundry and taking care of the little one as any significant contributions), I am not making much progress here..

I’m having hard time again swallowing some stupid remarks from people about how I am not working and not fully utilising my hard-earned degree (do every homemaker has to be uneducated to be entitled to stay at home??? duh!! ingat bela anak tak yah pakai ilmu ke?)

Enough said, this week will mark the big 3-0 of my life. Sometimes I can’t believe that I am no longer a 20′s..heh! Well, to hell with what people say, I am happy with who I am, I have a loving husband, a cute though most-of-the-time cranky son and as SIL stated on her visit 2 days ago, this year I got a big, super special present from Hubby – a house!

True, true..what more I could wish for. I am a well-educated woman who has it all, who doesn’t need to work to earn a living, no wonder others are so ‘jaki’ of me..keh keh!

Now I have to make plan on which eating places I want to dine in on my birthday..any suggestion? Japanese? Dim Sum? Western? Indian? Oh, the place must be child friendly, not a smoking zone, no too loud music, cramp places yang susah nak tolak stroller as my son will be with us celebrating his Mama’s birthday as well..heh!
