Agar-agar Turqoise & Sirih Junjung
I am still on the topic of the hantaran I made for Niece’s wedding. One of the hantaran items I really like was this agar-agar kering, shaped into roses. When I bought the agar-agar I was quite disappointed as it came undecorated, but nevertheless with the ribbons and other embellishments I have in hand, I managed to make it look like this..heh!
Since I have to make 2 sirih junjung - for groom and bride, I made a simpler version for Niece. After all sirih junjung from pengantin lelaki side should be taller and more extravagant, a symbol of higher status and more responsibility a man should hold in a marriage.
The groom’s sirih junjung’s picture is in the other memory card. I will upload later since I also like the pink roses used in his arrangement.
Actually our initial plan was to use white and blue roses for Niece’s sirih junjung, but since it was in Dungun, we have to make do with whatever selections the florist there has. It was fortunate enough that Niece managed to place early order for roses. I hope for next events, SIL will hold the ceremony in KL. It will be easier for us to find the necessary items as we have many places in KL and Selangor to scout.
