A Homemaker’s Diary

I think I felt the baby moved when I tried to sleep last night..hehe..I know the baby has been moving actively but I still could not feel it until last night..like one big gushh..and then silence. Hubby was fast asleep by then so I could not share the excitement, plus since the baby has not been moving frequent enough, I thought I will just wait for another few weeks before I let Hubby feel it..heh!

Actually we have Friday’s appointment for 20 weeks check up with the doctor, but I think I will go once the wedding is over. After all we just had the detailed scan last 2 weeks.

Emm..Niece’s nikah dress has been beaded, now the kain pulak..then the whole reception set. I am still doing the kelopak lily for bunga dip..bencinya la buat kelopak2 dawai tu..eiii…I hope I would be able to sew beads on the baju kurung I plan to wear during the event. Otherwise since I will be wearing the same baju for Hari Raya, I will sew the beads later. Hopefully the kain baju kurung will still fit by early September..kalau tak muat, pakai baju aje, kain tak payah..hahahah!

Dinner tonight, I think I will cook asam pedas rebus, goreng ikan jenahak (lagi?) and not sure whether to fry the vege or not..dah bosan makan sayur yang sama..feel like makan ulam, tapi ulam apa pon yg ada..Hubby has another meeting/project discussion tonight, so that will make 3 in a row this week. What to do, US based company, kita malam dorang siang..tak pe nanti August boleh amik one week leave, lepak2 kat rumah..hehe! By that time I won’t be having any commitment so boleh la ronggeng2 kan..yeay!

I think that’s it for today, remind me to water the new pandan plants tonight before CSI. I have a lot of tender loving care to do to my plants after this August event, kesian pokok2 ku semua terbiar..huhu!

This was meant to be done during Monday but I was too busy chatting..hehe..then Hubby was coming home for dinner and I rushed to cook dinner, did the laundry and went to Jusco for groceries shopping. Amusingly, Jusco was out of cili merah and cili padi, must be the shopping people did on weekend, not even the organic vege department has a single chili. Hopefully my stock in the fridge will last for the next few days since next week we will be leaving for Dungun. So I will only be doing cooking for another 6 days (minus the weekend - my kitchen off day)

I bought apple and grape and did fruit n vege salad like what I had at Ju’s house for late night supper (1 am kira supper ke?..hehe) These days macam tak de selera nak mkn nasik..huhu..I bought papaya as well.

Emm..what I did on weekend..Friday went to Alamanda to watch The Dark Knight. I was starving before the show, luckily they have 1901 hotdog. After the show thought to have dinner at Johnny’s (again) but massive people sampai nak cari tempat mkn pon susah, ended up I had noodle set at TCRS. Saturday felt like eating something different so we went to the Curve, had beryani at Colonial Times. Somehow jalan from Papier tu ada pulak sales kat Anakku outlet, 50% off plak tu..apa lagi borong lagi baju baby..good bargain tu mana nak dpt 50% sales. Went into MPH and found the childcare book I was looking for. Went into Borders but couldn’t find anything interesting to buy. Oh, they have like buy 1 CD Audio, free another CD with cheaper price but I didn’t find any artist I like.

On the way home, beli durian 8 bijik tepi jalan..actually we planned to buy like 3 bijik but the seller nak lelong plak…can’t resist bila benda lelong2 ni…hahaha.. Now I have like 2 big bottles of home made tempoyak..so Sunday we didn’t go anywhere, I cooked ikan kembung masak asam tumis using SIL’s recipe, sambal belacan tempoyak with ulam petai, jenahak goreng and some ikan masin. Dinner pon tak keluar mana-mana, we finished up the leftover from lunch.

Can’t wait to finish up my wedding project, another week to go, sempat ke nak siap bunga dip ni..kalau tak siap, sure kena pancung dgn SIL..hahaha!

I am done beading the akad nikah veil, completed 32 pieces of bunga stokin gantung and managed to sew beads on half of the baju nikah sleeve..huhu..so what is left to be done before 6th August is another 28 of the bunga stokin, 70 pieces of bunga pahar lili dip and beading for the whole set of baju bersanding and finish up the akad nikah attire beading (what about my own baju kurung for the kenduri??)

This is why people have a team of helpers for wedding and not one person to do it all. If I have ample time I would love to sew beads on the whole baju as I find it very relaxing compared to bunga telur making, plus the charges for sewing beads on wedding attire are usually higher (RM200++ per set). Since I am not charging anything this time, consider them as my wedding gift to the Niece and her husband..heh!

Well, Hubby said he got free tickets to watch Dark Knight at 6:30pm at Alamanda, and he’s coming back to pick me up..yeay..kena mandi and bersiap2..ok la gimme some chance, have to take a break from all this nerve wrecking chores..berbinau dah mata aku mengadap beads tu..heh!

After some thought I finally bought the AVENT breast pump on ebay although the one that I aimed to bid in the first place was really overpriced by the end of the bidding time. So I bought the one on Buy Now list for USD37, overall with shipping and insurance the total is USD55++. It’s not really cheap compared to the one I saw in Parkson but at least with this pack I will get 2 4oz bottles.

Now I am looking for other things that I should buy. Still thinking whether I should buy the post natal Tropical Herbs set, but I am sure I will need to buy the baby oil (like minyak telon) and barut for the baby. For my bengkung, I think the confinement lady told me she has, of course with additional charge..heh!

Oh, I will be buying Susen pad to be worn during confinement as well. The pakej bersalin for the pad I saw online from one of the sellers is around 100++, the ultra thick, overnight, regular pads all included. Now what else will I need?

As per previous entry, we went for the detailed scan and now we 99% know the gender of the baby..hehe..I will make sure of it the next time we go for the check up in August but for now, I think I am happy with whatever inside…girl or boy, Phoebe or Phoebo..hehe..although Hubby was hoping for this gender and I am hoping for that gender but I told him it’s OK as in 3-4 years time we will try for another child to complete a pair.

I am not really fond of going through another pregnancy but then if the next one is not going to be any worse than this, I think I will endure it. Told SIL about the baby and she is very, very excited. Now I can buy the appropriate color for the baby’s clothing and stuffs..hehe!

I still have quite a lot to be done for Niece’s wedding but for now I think I can still hit the dateline. The hantaran are all done, bunga katil, most of the guest favors, what is left in the list is bunga telur and the beading for the attire. That should be done by 5th August before we drive to Dungun on the 6th.

Pheww…another few more days (weeks?) before I can go on my honeymoon period, doing nothing, reading books, watching TV..heaven!
