Writing From Upstairs

I am writing this entry from my PC in the SOHO room upstairs. It’s been ages since I last connected from this PC. The living hall lamp (at least one of the three) is not working so being me who can’t stand dim surrounding to work, decided to spend the time waiting for Hubby to come home by watching TV and reading Harry Potter in the bedroom. After a short nap and an hour watching Grey’s Anatomy I decided to come and see my old, good PC..heh!

I thought of sharing this picture of bunga songket I made many months ago for a friend who has a Datin for a client. She was interested to get wedding favors for her daughter’s wedding but after negotiating the price she said it was out of her budget..heh! Can’t blame her but I couldn’t do anything as the songket pieces used for the bunga is hand woven from Terengganu.

Well, enough about the picture. Actually I’m having such a cloudy and moody mind, must be the PMS symptom for the coming days ahead..huhu!

I’m off to cook nasi goreng for supper. Hubby is coming back at 1am. Pity him for having to work so hard these days, but then again, that’s life, huh!

A Journey To Singapore

I need to survey for cheap hotels in Singapore fast. Our expat friends who are currently staying in Singapore decided to migrate to Canada in March and they requested that we go and visit them in Singapore for one last time before they depart.

I’m browsing this website to see whether it has all the information I need to decide which hotel to stay. Since we are not sure whether to drive or take flight to Singapore, I have to take all the details into consideration. I wouldn’t want the parking rate to be more expensive than the hotel rate for sure..heh!

The picture above was taken from the page on Golden Landmark – A Far East Hotel. It is said that the hotel is a walking distance from the Bugis Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) station, nearby the famous Orchard Road and in the vicinity of Bugis Street (with its Chinese food and Chinese wares), Arab Street (ideal for bargain hunters) and Bugis Village. I have no idea what they have in Singapore so I need to find more info about all those places.

I’m reading the reviews given by those who have stayed at the hotel. 1 out of the 3 reviews gave good feedback so based on my experience as long as the room is good, it doesn’t really matter how the reception of the staffs at the hotel, heh! After all I won’t be staying in the room the whole time as it is my first time in Singapore and I would be glad to explore all the places of attraction there.

I also love the fact that the website provides few pictures of each hotel. At least it would give a glimpse of the place before I decide to place a reservation. Now I have to check whether the date I plan to go to Singapore coincides with any major public holiday or school holiday. I will surely update my blog readers after I get back from Singapore. Stay tune!

What Do You Want In Life?

I’ve done very minimal productive activities today apart from cooking soto ayam for dinner and supper (Hubby is working UK shift eventhough it’s Thaipusam so that another guy who is Indian could go on leave). But if I do count the buang sampah task and siram pokok while waiting for Hubby to come back for dinner, could be considered quite productive la kan..hehe!

What I did today is mostly reading blogs, my ex schoolmates’ who are currently doing PhD abroad. What does it make me feel? Somehow it struck me that maybe if I take something else, not engineering degree (which I have very little interest in) I would be able to continue my study as well, but then again for what reason I would want to further to master or PhD level? I know even now I could further my study (but self-sponsored of course) but is that what I want in life? What could another certificate make differences to my life – better prospect in career (I work from home anyway..heh), extra money, self satisfaction?

I guess if I ever further studies in the future it would be merely for my self satisfaction – to prove that I am capable of taking another challenge in life. A friend told me that perhaps I should try getting pregnant and have baby because I complained that my life lack excitement and new things to be tried..haha! I’m considering that as well since it might open up a new whole world for me to venture.

In the end, I conclude that it doesn’t matter what others are doing, what matters is to know what you really want in life and you should go where your heart leads you to. I’m still contemplating on what I want in my life this year, deeply thinking!

Another Week Goes By

The weekend went by as usual with craft class on Sunday and short outing on Saturday to get some stuff for my craft class (which failed as the stock will not be in until early Feb and the decorative painting seller did not open her painting booth at the Subang Parade flea market..huhu) Despite that I managed to get another 5kg of Vesawit cooking oil at Carrefour Subang. Now I don’t have to worry to fry ikan cencaru sumbat and all..heh!

SIL came to our house on Saturday evening to send the keropok and pencicah I asked her to buy on her way back to East Coast. Since she told us last minute that she was coming, I didn’t have the chance to cook anything for her. Luckily we just came back from pasar malam in Bangi so there was still something to eat together while chatting.

On Sunday the bunga dip class went smoothly with 4 students. After that I cooked nasi lemak sambal sotong kering as per Hubby’s request. We decided to stay at home since we didn’t have any particular things to do outside. I think we are really getting old as going out to shopping mall no longer excites me..huhu!

On Monday Hubby took leave and went for medical check up in SJMC. He was worried that sometimes he feels not well so as precaution we might as well check whether there’s anything that we should be worried about. So we left home around 8am and reached SJMC at 9:30am. Never realized that morning traffic could be so jammed as everybody is rushing to go to work. The whole process of the medical check up was not very long and as I was checking the promotion they have, I think I will go for the Women Screening Package which starts from RM90. I never get Pap Smear done so it would be a great idea to get my health screened.

After that we had lunch in Sunway Pyramid and bought more magazines and books at MPH. I was so tired after reaching home that I took a nap for one hour. After that I went outside at my lawn to take pictures for my gardening blog. See the picture of my red rose, I like it when it is not blooming in full.

I decided to cook dinner since I was not fully satisfied eating at TGIF..huhu..nampak sgt perut melayu..haha! Nothing can beat a good home cooked food. Well, that goes the week with Hubby around and now I’m at home thinking what’s next to be done.
