Have you been to a clinic whereby the nurse retrieves your details from electronic patient records? So far I have seen only a few clinics which have that facilities. Most of the common clinics still use the paper system to get details for new patients and retrieve drugs prescriptions for the returning patients.
A friend of mine who have been studying medicine and working as a doctor in UK finally come home for good. I wonder if after her compulsory housemanship with local hospital (as per requirement by our government since she received government scholarship), she will be interested to open up her own practice.
I would be happy to see her own clinic to have all the latest IT breakthrough in term of software usage and definitely it will help her improve productivity among her staffs.
No more long encountering time at the counter waiting for the nurse to check the medical records and patients information. Therefore she will get the chance to see more patients as she will cut down the time to manually manages prescriptions and maintains complete medical records. By using the software she can improves her patient health tracking and clinical alerts.
I will discuss such benefits with her soon and who knows I could be a part of her clinic’s IT consultancy team..haha!
