The Nutcracker Ballet

A d v e r t i s e m e n t

*This post is written for nutcracker.com*

The first time I heard about Nutcracker ballet was when I watch the Barbie animated movie. (I know it’s a small girl imagination kind of movie but I always adore Barbie ever since I was a small child, plus the movie was fun and enchanting) For so long I always envy the graceful movement of a ballet dancer. Perhaps one day I would be so lucky to watch a real life ballet like this Great Russian Nutcracker.

In case you don’t know how the story goes, it’s actually about a girl, Clara with a Nutcracker doll. She dreams about the fight, the journey into the Land of Sweets and how the doll becomes a prince and fight with the Mouse King. (I’m not sure if this one tally with the Great Russian Nutcracker because this one is based on Alexander Dumas story)

I think for many people it’s more like a family tradition to watch this kind of ballet. Of course if you know anyone who is fond to pursue a life as a professional ballet dancer, ask him/her to try for the audition for Moscow Ballet. Even if it is not for life long career, an exposure to be part of the professionals team would help shape the children life in years to come.

And if you do go to such show, make sure you buy something to remind you by. Maybe a glass globe ornament or glass figurine to mark the memorable family occasion.
