Surgery To Slim

*This post is written for MyLapBandSurgery.com*

I was watching Discovery Channel Home and Health on my cable TV when I came across Bariatric surgery. A teenage boy aged 17 decided to undergo the operation in order to lose his weight. I could not believe that there is such operation now.

It reminds me when people used to say that such person could not eat so much because his or her tummy is small…huhu..and I thought people simply said that as a joke.

Well, that’s what this bariatric surgery does in simple word - reduce the ability of the stomach to get more food whether by minimizing the original size of the stomach or doing some bypassing work with the small intestine.

It is really great to see how the boy actually manage to lose his weight (and it was really a lot compared before the operation..he was really obese with the body size of a single bed size..seriously I’m not joking!).

Of course with any other surgery, this bariatric surgery has its pro and cons and you have to take extra care in terms of health style, medication and food supplement after the operation. But if it could give you an extra zest for your health, why not, right? Quoting from the site, it says that an obese 25-year-old man has a reduced life span, and he can expect a loss of about 12 years of life..huhu! And not to mention the health effect he might encounter by being obese such as diabetes, high blood pressure and depression.

If you go to the website MyLapBandSurgery.com, you could see for yourself the pictures of the before and after patients. You might also want to consider having this Lap Band Surgeon Mexico to do bariatric procedure for you since they currently have like a special package.

Even more interesting is that several of the surgeons and doctors at Betancourt Medical Center has had either the Lap-Band or Gastric Bypass procedures. So they will understand what their real patients really going through on personal level.

If you have a lot of pain related and other questions regarding the procedure, make sure you read the FAQ section in the website. It really answers most of the troubling questions in my mind about the procedure.

Decoupage Class I

On Saturday I conducted a class for decoupage. It was a 2 hour plus session with a friend back from Uni. She’s getting married so this is like a craft rendezvous before she ties the knot in August and getting more busy with her married life.

So this is the picture of her craft work. I just used a normal tin which I have put sealer on a few days before her class session. At least that was what the girl at the craft store advised me to do for tin and wood.

I just can’t wait to get my parcel of scrapbooking and wood items from US. I’ve been selecting and bidding all the items on the eBay for the past 2 weeks. This would be my adventure during September break (hopefully this break is on this time..haha!)

Overall, I was happy that the class session went well. Apart from sharing my knowledge on decoupage, we also discussed about her plan after the wedding. I always feel happy when friends are settling down. Good luck to her and hope she’ll find time to indulge in her craft hobby after she get married.

Secure Your Home

*This post is written for brickhousesecurity.com*

I was thinking of upgrading my Home Security System. The recent incident that happened to my friend who lives in the opposite neighborhood really make me think twice about the safety of the area. For now I have taken some action on my part to prevent such robbery or burglary but who knows if somehow the modus operandi of these bandits are getting more sophisticated day by day, huh!

alarm1.jpg

I think this Wireless Home Security System w/Voice Auto-Dialer is really good. If there is any intruder, the system will call the first number in the list to alert in case of burglar and harmful smoke. These days fire do happen when the house owner is not around so this might be another way to save property and belongings.

Since it also comes with handheld PANIC feature, in case of a crisis, the owner could always trigger the alarm and the system will call the number listed in the priority list (maybe the spouse or neighbor). Then the person who answers the call will be able to hear what is happening in the house and take action. (This would be really helpful if you have older kids in the house while you are out and something happen in the house that raises panic alarm)

Another device which I think would be helpful is this decoy camera. It could be a great visual deterrent for theft and vandalism in the housing area since those bandits with bad intention would think that they are on camera while trying to sneak into your backyard.

All in all, I hope that by investing in these devices it would prove to be a good investment to ensure my peace of mind and home security.

Let’s Hang Out

If there is one place I love to hang out at, it would be Secret Recipe. Why? Since I can’t drink coffee so places like Starbucks and Coffee Beans definitely can’t define me. If I go to such places it would only be as a company to Hubby. Since the food in Secret recipe is good and the ambient is always nice (mind certain hours when children were running like they were in a playground..I hate those parents who don’t know how to handle their kids at eating places)..I always end up dining out at Secret Recipe. Plus their food and drinks price is not that expensive compared to other places.

Luckily for us, the branch that they have at the mall in front of my house is good enough for our standard, the customer service is good, the environment is cool, not many children running and screaming..(well, seriously those hyper kids really spoil my mood for eating, I really have low tolerant for kids like that). So usually once or twice in a month, we always go out and have something at Secret Recipe.

I will update about my latest Secret Recipe food adventure in my Food blog later. Check out CintaRasa.com, OK!

A Trip To Australia

*This post is written for CheaperthanHotels.com.au*

My friend is going on trip to Australia and looking for good bargain for accomodation in Melbourne. She’s going for work as well as taking a week break from work. So the first few days of her stay will be borne by her company but the rest of the vacation stay have to come from her own pocket. I guess sometimes it’s really good to be a single and financial independent woman..haha..(peace Hubby, I still love being married to you..wink!)

So when I read about these very good deals at CheaperthanHotels.com.au, I thought I must let her know about this. I really like all the pictures shown in each hotel’s descriptions. At least even though we have never been to Australia, by looking at those pictures we could imagine how the place will look like. Of course for tourists like her, she wouldn’t be staying in the hotel all day. Day time will be spent sight seeing and shopping so I really think it’s wise of her not to spend so much on accommodation.

Check out this Mckenzie’s Guest House Melbourne. It provides 3-5 star accommodation in Parkville at last minute prices from AUD 74. Plus it is located nearby to Melbourne University where her sister is studying now.

But if she feel like indulging herself, maybe this City Edge Serviced Apartments Melbourne will do. It provides 3-5 star accommodation in East Melbourne at last minute prices from AUD 99. At least the rest of the money she saves could be spent on buying souvenirs for a friend like me..haha!
