You Bid The Lowest

Usually in a bid, the highest bidder will win.

But what if I tell you that if you manage to bid with the lowest unique amount, you could win a brand new Scion XB with retail price of $15410.00. Or if you want to be less ambitious perhaps a Samsung 50″ Plasma TV with a retail value of $1849.99 will do.

I’m thinking to bid for this Scion XB but since if I win, the shipping charges to Malaysia has to be borne by me so I think I will opt for something less expensive.

I will try to come out with the lowest unique bid for this Samsung 50″ Plasma TV. I’m thinking of $1413.72 or is it too low? Oh, I forget it should be the lowest bid that win the prize, haha!

I know if I win this Plasma TV it would be like early Christmas in April for me since I have been dreaming to get a new TV to put in the bedroom for quite some times since the previous TV was struck by lightning and has gone kaput.

The Three Questions

Today, I was tired and bored yet happy. How could I feel all that feelings in one day..haha!

Maybe I was tired because I have to wake up early. Somehow I got a special request from a student to conduct my craft class on weekday instead on weekend like usual.

And I was bored because most of my friends are on leave due to Agong coronation so I have no one to chat with.

Yet I am happy since hubby could eat my home-cooked nasi ayam (again) today.

So what is there all about the headline of my entry this time.

I was searching for new things to ponder tonight and found one story.

It’s not a short story thus the reason I did not copy and paste it here.

If you don’t have the time to read the whole story, let me give you the gist here.

The three questions are these:

What is the best time to do each thing? Who are the most important people to work with? What is the most important thing to do at all times?

And the wise answer is:

Remember that there is only one important time and is Now. The present moment is the only time over which we have dominion.

The most important person is always the person with whom you are, who is right before you, for who knows if you will have dealings with any other person in the future.

The most important pursuit is making that person, the one standing at you side, happy, for that alone is the pursuit of life.

I’m glad that I don’t need to be a hermit to know that..haha!

Walk The Line

I’ve heard about this movie but I have not had the chance to watch it. But last night while having late night supper and switching on the TV, the movie was about to be screened and I decided to take a look. For the first 10 minutes, I was hooked and decided to stay until it finished around 2:15am.

Seriously I haven’t heard about Johnny Cash not until this movie came out to cinema.

And when I read in the news that the movie won the Globe for best musical or comedy film, with both the main actor and actress won the award as well, I just know that I have to see what is it about this biopic that won the heart of many.

I think what make it special is the inner message it brought to life. In the attempt to pursue a dream in life, a woman can make or break the man, no matter how strong or fragile he may seems to be.

If only the wife could understand him more, maybe Johnny will have the success sooner and would not resort to the pills and alcohol addiction yet she just failed to be the devoted and loving wife.

As for June Carter, she embodies the strength that all women should have even if she make it through as the second woman in his life.

As he said in the movie, she’s an angel who have been there with him and be his best friend.

I guess no amount of money and fame could give you that, and I’m happy that he finally won the love of his life.

Online Banking, Anyone?

If you are lazy like me, than having online banking at the click of your mouse is great.

Gone are the days when I have to put on decent clothes, drive to the nearest bank branch, take a number and wait to be called to the banking counter to do my transactions.

However mind you, that even with all the automated process doing the transaction online, it is not free without any bank charges.

(I know a local bank which charge 50cents if you do more than 3 transactions per month with less than the allowable minimum balance in your account, yes, in your account as if the money is theirs..huhu!)

Remember the minimal charges they charged you whenever you have late payment on your credit card statement.

Well, something like that.

Even though it’s not really your fault since it’s a long public holiday and the check you post could not arrive on time or maybe the statement arrive late at your home address.

What about the cost you have to bear for having current accounts?

The one that I have is so called Premier that charge me $5 per month as monthly fee.

I have been planning to close that account but with so many obligation and standing instruction tied to that particular account, I have no choice but to bear with the monthly fee.

Imagine how much I could save with $5 every month for how many years – 4-5 years now?

And if you somehow have to open saving accounts, apart from the one that you already have, check out the rate they give on AER (Annual Equivalent Rate).

Perhaps it’s time that we become less ignorant consumers. After all it’s our hard earned money that we put into that piggy bank of theirs.

The Pirate Party

The birthday party date is looming near and I am yet to find the materials I want.

Hubby wouldn’t agree to my idea of decorating with balloons and I couldn’t find anything pirate locally.

I wish there is such thing as Halloween store in Malaysia.

Maybe I have to let go of the idea to have pirate theme for Hubby’s birthday party this time.

Not until I could find pirate costumes and decorations that suit to the theme.

Otherwise my pirate party would be nothing more than a child’s play.

If only I live somewhere in US that allow such online purchase and easy delivery right at my doorstep.

I would want to have the pirate parrot, the eye patch, the wig, the pirate belt with skull emblem and the list goes on.

Check out this pirate hat with dreadlocks. Even the Pirates of The Caribbeans 3 would die to get one of this..haha!

Never mind, next year when it’s my birthday party instead of pirate theme I will go for some gothic theme. I found great costume to go with it.

No, no I should choose something more fancy and colorful rather than some depressing moody witch look.

I think butterfly theme will look nice. It’s nice, huh to dream on like little girl once more.. blek!
