For those who would like to know what is the basic materials used in decoupage, this picture shows the basic items.
What is important is to have white gesso or the primer, any acrylic paint if you like to have some colors for touching up the background of the can, tin, plate or wood – the surface you would like to do the decoupage on, the sealer to stick the napkin on the surface and lastly the varnish.
Of course you will need sponge to dab the surface with the white gesso and few types of normal art brushes to use with the sealer and varnish. In order to dry your decoupaged material faster, a normal hair dryer will be a great help.
